Popular Cars for Young Adults include the Honda Civic and Accord
The Honda Accord and Civic are the best-selling cars with buyers aged 35 years old and younger. This has been the trend over the last 11 years, according to registration data from IHS Automotive. From 2007 to 2013, the Civic was sold the most often to buyers aged 35 and younger. In 2014, the Accord became the best-selling car to buyers aged 35 and younger. The Honda Civic and Accord are popular cars for young adults.
“Honda is a company with a youthful spirit, and that comes through strongly in our products and our appeal with younger buyers,” John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda Motors, said in a press release. “The epic new Civic that we’re launching this fall, together with all-new products like the HR-V crossover coming this spring and the new Fit, will really strengthen our relationship with young buyers in the days ahead.”
Honda is looking to gain even more of the young-buyer market with the 2016 Honda HR-V and the all-new Honda Civic that will mark the car’s 10th generation. Here’s a look at Honda’s products that appeal to buyers under 35.
2015 Honda Civic Si and Civic Coupe
The Civic is available in a range of styles. There is the Civic sedan and coupe, as well as the Civic Si sedan and coupe. There is also the Civic HF, Civic Hybrid, and Civic Natural Gas. The Civic Si models are available in one trim level, achieve 205 horsepower, and are only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. The sportiness of the Civic Si is a definite selling point for younger buyers, which is potentially why it is one of the popular cars for young adults. A one-touch power moonroof, body-colored wing spoiler, push button start, aluminum shift knob with leather, and textured aluminium pedals are a mix of convenience and race car appeal. The Civic Si sedan starts at $23,090 and the coupe starts at $22,890. The Civic coupe starts a few thousand less at $18,290 and it makes less horsepower at 143. The Civic sedan starts at $18,490 and also makes 143 horsepower. The Civic coupe retains that sporty look, but is priced less than the Si version.
Honda debuted the 2016 model-year Civic at the New York Auto Show in April 2015. The all-new Civic will be even more sporty and its design is centered around fun-to-drive dynamics. There will also be the addition of a hatchback version and a Civic Type-R. The Type-R is said to make 168 horsepower, so there will be a range of Civics that appeal to buyers in different price ranges.
2015 Honda Accord Coupe
The Honda Accord is another popular car for young adults because it is sporty, stylish, and sophisticated. The Accord coupe starts at $23,775 and is available in four trim levels. The LX-S, EX, and EX-L models make 185 horsepower while the EX-L V-6 makes 278 horsepower. The Accord coupe has definite power. The LX-S, EX, and EX-L V-6 are available with a 6-speed manual transmission. The EX and above trim levels have a one-touch power moonroof, smart entry, and push button start. Chrome door handles and exhaust finishers are standard.
