2020 CR-V driving down city street

The Honda CR-V delivers sporty performance on Louisville-area roads, but does the Honda CR-V have AWD? The answer is yes! All CR-V trim levels can be equipped with all-wheel drive for enhanced traction and control in all kinds of weather and road conditions. Learn more about the Honda CR-V AWD system, and then schedule a test drive with Fisher Honda today to test out a CR-V EX!

What is Real Time AWD?

There are four CR-V trims, and each is available with the Honda Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System™. This innovative AWD system uses sensors located in the rear axle to detect when there is a decrease in traction and automatically sends power to the rear wheels as needed. Benefits of Honda Real Time AWD include:

  • Reacts quickly to regain traction lost due to slippery road conditions.
  • Enhances stability by redistributing torque between the front and rear wheels when turning.

Is All-Wheel Drive Worth It?

Drivers in the Broomfield area will definitely find that it is well worth it to upgrade to all-wheel drive. With the harsh winter weather in Colorado, all-wheel drive can be especially useful while adding confidence and peace of mind. The common knock against AWD is that it reduces fuel efficiency, but an AWD CR-V that is equipped with a continuously variable transmission still guarantees an impressive EPA-estimated 27 mpg city and 32 mpg highway*.

What Are the Other CR-V Performance & Safety Features?

Along with the available Real Time AWD, the new CR-V comes with additional performance and safety features that will make any drive in and around Boulder more enjoyable and secure. Some standard CR-V performance features include:

  • Hill Start Assist
  • Brake Assist
  • Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) with Traction Control

Every Honda CR-V trim level also comes standard with Honda Sensing®. This safety suite includes an array of advanced driver assist features such as Collision Mitigation Braking System™, Lane Keeping Assist System, and Road Departure Mitigation System.
