New Honda CR-V Offers All New Styling For One of the Best-Selling Vehicles In Its Class
2012 Honda CR-V Available Soon at Fisher Honda
All of us at Boulder’s Fisher Honda are extremely excited for the impending arrival of the new 2012 Honda CR-V! With a completely revamped design, the updated features and possibilities for the 2012 CR-V will set a new standard for its class. With the Honda CR-V having been one of Fisher Honda’s top-selling crossover vehicles for over five years, expectations for the 2012 CR-V are extremely high.
The 2012 Honda CR-V has been completely redesigned for the first time since model-year 2007. Expect more adventurous styling and improved fuel economy. The 2012 model will be a bit larger than the 2011 Honda CR-V but will remain a five-seat, four-door wagon. The front fascia’s smooth-flowing lines will be highlighted by a three-bar grille and multi-reflector headlights, and the lower front bumper will wrap upward to convey the CR-V’s SUV capabilities. The new 2012 CR-V’s five-spoke alloy wheels and bold fender flares will make this vehicle hard to miss.
What to Expect in the New Honda CR-V
Some of the changes expected for the 2012 Honda CR-V will include:
• Continuing use of the current third-generation CR-V’s engine for the first few years of the new design, after which it is expected that Honda will transition to a new powertrain as part of their mid-cycle update.
• Enhanced mobility by including a driver-activated switch that will lock AWD into a 50:50 front-rear split at lower speeds.
Other features will include:
• Automatic dual-zone climate control
• Leather upholstery
• Heated front seats
• Power moonroof
• Bluetooth hands-free cellphone connectivity
• Navigation system
• USB iPod interface
The 2012 Honda CRV EX will be powered by a 2.4L i-VTEC inline four-cylinder engine with 162 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. A MacPherson strut front suspension, along with a double-wishbone setup in the rear, will provide the 2012 Honda CR-V with superior handling.
Expected Pricing & Features for the 2012 Honda CR-V
Prices for the new 2012 Honda CR-V are expected to be announced shortly before it goes on sale. Given the history of the CR-V’s pricing, it is expected that the 2012 CR-V LX with FWD will start at around $23,000, with the AWD version starting around $24,200.
The 2012 Honda CR-V LX standard equipment should include power accessories, remote keyless entry, cruise control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, tilt/telescope steering wheel, and 40/20/40 split folding rear seats.
The 2012 Honda CR-V EX is expected to be priced somewhere close to $25,200 with FWD and $26,400 with AWD. The EX model should include all LX features, with the addition of steering wheel audio controls, a power sunroof, alloy wheels, and other upgrades.
The 2012 Honda CR-V EX-L with FWD is estimated to start at $28,000, with the AWD option starting at $29,200. The EX-L model will add features like automatic climate control, power driver’s seat, heated front seats and outside mirrors, and leather upholstery. If Honda again decides to only offer the navigation system on the EX-L, it would be priced around $30,100 with FWD and around $31,300 with AWD.
