Honda Commits $100,000 To New Christchurch Earthquake Mayoral Fund

The recent natural disaster in Christchurch, New Zealand was quite a tragedy. They have recently committed $100,000 to the New Christchurch Earthquake Mayoral Fund which was recently set-up.

Branch Manager os a local Honda dealership, Paul White, said Honda takes its community responsibility seriously and that this was one way that they could help their fellow Cantabrians.

“Everyone at Honda has been affected by the earthquakes, including our premises, however we know there are others who have a greater need than ours. While our dealership is within the restricted area and we don’t yet know the extent of damage to it, Honda New Zealand will draw on our reserves to help those whose lives have been literally turned upside down by the events of this week. Honda Cars Christchurch, which has been in Christchurch since 1977, is very much part of the local community and we want to help our friends and neighbours. The wider team at Honda across the country are also working on other ways to help but we believe that contributing to this newly established fund is a good way of getting things going,” he explained.
