Discover the Groundbreaking Changes Made for the 2018 Honda Odyssey
The 2018 Honda Odyssey has been thoroughly redesigned, employing numerous changes to bring America’s favorite minivan for seven years to new heights of perfection. Scheduled to arrive this Spring with new technologies and features, it will represent a next-generation driving experience.
The 2018 Odyssey delivers a subtle blend of old and new when it comes to styling. The signature lightning bolt beltline has been retained, but you’ll now notice a sportier front fascia that hides an Active Shutter Grille for improved fuel efficiency, plus a flying wing front grille.
Once inside, you’ll find that the Odyssey line’s legendary versatility has been optimized by a new Magic Slide second-row seat. You can remove the center seat for easier entry and greater comfort, move the two outboard seats sideways, and more.
The 2018 Honda Odyssey adds even more technologies than we could have imagined. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both present, and you’ll be able to use a 4G LTE Wi-Fi connection to stay connected to the internet.
Further features include:
- CabinWatch: Use a camera to keep an eye on passengers.
- CabinTalk: Talk to second – and third-row passengers through inbuilt speakers.
- Connected Rear Entertainment System: Steam video through the ceiling-mounted, 10.2-inch WSVGA screen.
- CabinControl: Control your rear entertainment system, rear cabin heat, and air conditioning from your smartphone. You can also send directions to your navigation system.
All EX trim levels and above, which should account for 95 percent of all Odyssey sales, will feature Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) from the celebrated Honda Sensing Suite.
The 2018 Odyssey keeps the 3.5L V6 engine for up to 280-hp, and you’ll be able to take advantage of an all-new, Honda-developed 10-speed automatic transmission, the first of its kind to ever be used in a minivan. The all-new body and chassis results in class-leading steering precision, and vehicle weight is down by up to 96 pounds.
With these advances taking into consideration, it should come as no surprise to learn that the Odyssey is expected to enjoy top-in-class EPA fuel economy ratings.
