2018 Honda Accord Spy Shots Predict an Exciting New Sedan for Denver and Boulder, CO

October 10th, 2016 by

2017 AccordIt seems like the 2017 Accord just arrived, but recently revealed 2018 Honda Accord spy shots have us looking to the future. Drivers in Denver and Boulder, CO, have been coming to Fisher Honda for new and used Accord models for years, and we know many of you are sure to be as eager as we are to see what’s next for the mid-size car. While the new Accord is heavily camouflaged, we have a few thoughts on what you can expect from it.

Taking Cues from the Civic

The 2016 Honda Civic represented the first model year in the 10th generation of the small car, and it took some bold new directions with regard to style. While the 2018 Honda Accord spy shots have the vehicle wrapped in a pretty impressive disguise, it looks like it’s borrowing some style cues from the Civic.

The 2018 Accord looks like it will have exterior upgrades like

  • A short trunk lid and a redesign of the rear for a more aggressive feel
  • A fastback roofline for a sleeker look
  • Headlights that are similar to the current design, though a bit wider and narrower

As far as interior updates go, the spy photos revealed what looks like an updated infotainment interface, adding additional button controls to work hand-in-hand with the touchscreen. It’s unclear if the Accord’s two-screen system will return for 2018 at this time.

The 2017 Honda Accord

With the significantly updated body that we saw in those 2018 Honda Accord spy photos, it looks certain that this is going to be the end of the ninth generation Accord. If you’ve been drawn to its elegant style or are intrigued by its seven different trim levels of options, you should make the trip to Fisher Honda for a test drive before the new model arrives. The interior should have at least as many connectivity and infotainment features as the current model, including Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and a multi-angle rearview camera as standard – expect the top-of-the-line trim to still compete with luxury sedans as the 2017 Accord Touring does.

We don’t yet know what to expect from the engine options on the 2018 model, but don’t be surprised to find updates to the 185-hp four-cylinder and 272-hp V6 powertrains.
