Sophisticated and Bold Style

The upcoming 2017 Honda CR-V changes include some substantial updates to the exterior design. Here are a few highlights until we’re able to show you the new CR-V in person:

  • Aggressive front-end redesign featuring wing-shaped LED daytime running lights
  • Wide, muscular fenders
  • Long hood and long wheelbase
  • Short rear overhang with dual exhaust

In addition to these updates that are standard across the trim levels, the CR-V’s windswept front end with have Honda LED headlights, an active shutter grille for reduced drag, upgraded alloy wheels (up to 18 inches), and more available.

New Turbocharged Engine

The 2017 Honda CR-V redesign is bringing more than just good looks to Denver; a new turbocharged engine propels the crossover forward on EX and higher trims. CR-V LX models will feature the same dependable 185-hp 2.4L four-cylinder, but here’s what you can expect from the turbo engine:

  • Total system output of 190 hp
  • CVT with Honda G-Shift control logic
  • The “highest EPA fuel economy ratings in the compact SUV class” according to Honda

While we’re still waiting on the official EPA estimates on the fuel economy, Honda’s promise that the combination of improved aerodynamics and new engine will lead to remarkable levels of efficiency has us excited.

Advanced Safety Features

The Honda Sensing suite of advanced accident prevention and driver assistance features was formerly only on the top-of-the-line Touring trim, but you’ll now find it on 2017 Honda CR-V EX and higher models. Features like Collision Mitigation Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and more aim to make the CR-V one of the safest cars in its class.
