2016 Honda Pilot Specs: New Elite Trim Level, Standard Features

When the 2016 Honda Pilot made its world debut at the Chicago Auto Show information on its full specifications were not released. With its arrival this summer fast approaching, Honda has released the 2016 Honda Pilot specs in a press release. Here is a listing of the available trim levels and a look at the 2016 Honda Pilot specs.

This is the Elite trim, 2016 Honda Pilot.

Performance Specs

The all-new, third generation Pilot will have more horsepower and torque than the second-generation Pilot. The 2016 Pilot will have a direct-injected, 3.5-liter iVTEC Earth Dreams Technology engine. The engine will produce 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. As noted when the Pilot debuted, there will be 6-speed and 9-speed automatic transmissions.

The Pilot will now have an optional Intelligent Variable Torque Management All-Wheel Drive System. With this system, the driver can use the Intelligent Traction Management system to select normal, mud, sand, and snow modes. The two-wheel drive models will have normal and snow selections with the traction management system.

2016 Honda Pilot Specs: Safety

Like the 2015 Honda CR-V, the 2016 Pilot will feature the suite of safety features known as Honda Sensing. Available on the EX and EX-L models, while standard on the Touring and Elite trims, the suite includes:

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning
  • Road Departure Mitigation System
  • Lane Keeping Assist System with Lane Departure Warning
  • Adaptive Cruise Control

Other safety features include: hill start assist, brake assist, tire pressure monitoring system with tire fill assist and location and pressure indicators, and advanced compatibility engineering body structure. The Elite model comes standard with a blind-spot information system with rear cross traffic monitor.

Features by Trim Level

The display audio and navigation systems have been updated on this new generation. A Honda satellite-linked navigation system with voice recognition and Honda HD digital traffic are available on the EX-L model, while standard on the Touring and Elite models. There is also a new offering of exterior paint colors for the 2016 Honda Pilot. These colors include steel sapphire metallic, lunar silver metallic, and modern steel metallic.
