2016 Honda HR-V exterior features

HR-V has most exterior features for the least amount of money

With a list of exterior features ranging from a rearview camera and daytime running lights to fog lights and heated side mirrors, the HR-V is priced the lowest, while still offering the most features. It is the only crossover in the comparison to have LED taillights. Smart entry is offered on only a few of the other vehicles—Mini Countryman, Nissan Juke, and Jeep Renegade. All of the vehicles have 17-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable side mirrors, fog lights, and headlights with auto-on/off. Here’s a comparison of the 2016 Honda HR-V exterior features to the features available in the Subaru Crosstrek, Chevrolet Trax, Mini Countryman, Fiat 500X, Nissan Juke, and Jeep Renegade.

2015 Subaru Crosstrek

Alloy wheels are standard on the Crosstrek and HR-V. Fog lights are standard on all trim levels of the Crosstrek, while they are standard on the mid- and upper-trim level HR-Vs. LED taillights are only available on the hybrid Crosstreks, while they are standard on the HR-V. The mid-level and upper trim levels on the HR-V come standard with auto-on/off headlights. Only the upper-trim level Crosstrek has this feature. A rearview camera and power side mirrors are standard on all models of the Crosstrek and HR-V. However, the Crosstrek lacks smart entry and LED taillights, although these are features on the hybrid models. The HR-V has more exterior features for less money than the Crosstrek.

2015 Chevrolet Trax

A rearview camera, daytime running lights, auto-on/off headlight controls, and power-adjustable side mirrors are standard on all Trax models. Fog lights are only available on the highest trim level Trax, whereas this feature is standard on the mid-level and upper-trim level HR-Vs. All HR-Vs come with alloy wheels, while on the base model alloy wheels are optional. The HR-V has more exterior features than the Trax and for a lesser cost.

2015 Mini Countryman

The mid-level Mini Countryman comes with LED fog lights, power-adjustable side mirrors, heated side mirrors, 17-inch alloy wheels, and daytime running lights. The smart entry system is an additional $500 on the Countryman, while it is a standard feature on the EX and EX-L HR-V models. The Countryman lacks a rearview camera and LED taillights. The Countryman is also about $4,600 more than the HR-V and has fewer exterior features.

2016 Fiat 500X

A rearview camera is standard on all Honda vehicles, while a rearview camera is only available on the upper-trim level Fiat 500X. Headlights with auto-on/off and fog lights are also features reserved for the higher-trim level Fiat 500X. The 500X lacks smart entry and LED taillights and costs about $2,900 more than the HR-V and has fewer exterior features.

2015 Nissan Juke

Like the HR-V, all Juke models come standard with a rearview camera. Smart entry, known as Nissian Intelligent key, is standard on all models as are power-adjustable side mirrors. Auto-on/off headlights and fog lights are only available on the highest trim level Juke. LED taillights, heated side mirrors, and daytime running lights are unavailable on the Juke. However, heated side mirrors are only available on the mid-trim level as part of an optional package. Even with fewer exterior features, the Juke is priced about $3,200 more than the HR-V.

2015 Jeep Renegade

The Jeep Renegade lacks one of the exterior features that the HR-V has, which are LED taillights. Smart entry, known as passive entry on Jeeps, is an optional upgrade that adds on an automatic transmission and remote start system. These add-ons bring the total price of the Renegade to about $1,800 more than the HR-V.
