The Toyota Yaris is Now Available in Boulder
If you’ve been looking for a sub-compact, you’ve probably come across the 2015 Toyota Yaris in your search. This 5-door compact is equipped with a host of features, including:
- Speed sensitive volume control
- 6-speaker stereo
- A large number of unique storage compartments
However, those perks don’t bring the Yaris any closer to stacking up against the 2015 Honda Fit. The Fit outperforms the Yaris in nearly every category, including fuel economy, safety, features, and horsepower.
The 2015 Honda Fit offers an EPA-estimated 33 mpg in the city/41 mpg on the highway*—3 mpg in the city and 5 mpg on the highway more than the 30 mpg city/36 mpg highway promised by the Yaris. Despite its high mpg, the Fit doesn’t compromise a bit of power. It manages both higher fuel economy numbers and more horsepower than the Yaris, producing a confidant 130 hp at 6,600 RPM with its 4-cyl engine, which dwarfs the 106 hp that the Yaris puts out.
Finally, the Honda Fit is much more safe than the Yaris. First off, it comes with a standard rear parking assist system that includes a backup camera and monitor, so you can back out and parallel park with ease. The Yaris doesn’t offer a parking assist system. The Honda Fit also scored an impressive 5-star rating in recent NHTSA rear side crash testing, while the Toyota Yaris received only 3 stars. The Fit scored 5 stars on overall side crash safety and side barrier crash safety as well, compared to the Yaris’ 4 stars.
