The 2015 Mazda5 Is Available for Longmont and Denver Drivers
Families in Longmont and Denver in the market for a spacious, capable vehicle to transport the kids and all their stuff have undoubtedly come across the 2015 Mazda5. The Mazda5 offers a number of features that appeal to families on the go:
- Steering wheel mounted audio controls
- Remote keyless entry
- Available Bluetooth® connectivity
While these features might interest some drivers, the Mazda is less powerful, offers far less available cargo space, and has much lower safety ratings than the 2015 Honda Odyssey, which is now available to Longmont and Denver drivers at Fisher Honda in Boulder.
The Honda Odyssey’s 3.5L V6 base engine is capable of creating 248 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. The Mazda5’s base engine is a 2.5L 4-cylinder motor that can produce just 158 hp and 163 lb-ft of torque.
The Honda Odyssey offers drivers 38.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row seat, expandable to 148.5 cubic feet when the passenger seats are folded. The Mazda5 offers just 5.6 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat, expandable to a maximum of 44.4 cubic feet.
In recent IIHS safety tests, the 2015 Honda Odyssey received an overall score of “Good,” while the Mazda5 was rated as “Poor”, failing in key areas such as seat design and pelvis/leg injury potential.
