CPO Honda vs. CPO Buick

By now, there are about as many different Certified Pre-Owned programs as there are auto manufacturers, but much like how Honda vehicles are some of the best in the market, Honda’s CPO program is one of the best available at giving drivers peace of mind and savings. Let’s see how a competing CPO program, like Buick’s, can compare to Honda’s in areas our drivers care about.

As you can see for yourself, Buick’s Certified Pre-owned Program is clearly inferior to what Honda can offer.

  • Program Qualifications: Honda requires vehicles be produced within the last six years in order to qualify for the CPO program, but Buick allows vehicles as far back as 2004 to be certified.
  • Warranty Coverage: While both automakers have similar basic warranty coverage, Honda provides a much better powertrain warranty, covering 7 years or 100,000 miles from the original in-service date while the Buick only has powertrain warranty coverage for 5 years or 100,000 miles.
  • Inspection Process: Buick’s 172-point inspection process is actually much better than other automakers (like Volkswagen and Mazda), but it still comes up short against Honda’s 182-point inspection process. Do you want to take a chance that one of those 10 points will be a part that will go out on your Buick?

Buick might be able to stand up to VW or Mazda, but when you put its CPO program up against Honda, we think it’s clear who comes out ahead: Honda.
