Job Title: Service Valet

Department: Service

– SUMMARY

  • Maintain a smooth flow of vehicles through the Service Drive.

– ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  •  Greets all customers entering the service area with a friendly, upbeat attitude, answers their questions, and directs them to the appropriate person or location.
  •  Controls service traffic flow and parking.
  •  Determines if customers coming into service have an appointment. Records customer’s name, VIN, tag number, mileage, and existing vehicle damage.
  •  Assists service advisors when needed
  •  Maintains a clean and safe service drive area, free of dirt, water, leaves, snow, etc.
  •  Maintains a professional appearance.
  •  Place vehicle Interior Protection in each vehicle.
  •  Tag keys and place mirror tags in all vehicles.
  •  Move vehicles to appointed parking area and ensure all windows are up and all vehicles are locked.
  •  Advise management of any customer articles such as CD’s, electronics, cash, etc. left inside any vehicle.
  •  Adhere to all customer service processes.
  •  Fill in for shuttle drivers as needed.
  •  Bring customers’ vehicles to the front of service drive when directed.
  •  Ensure customers’ vehicle is free of dirt and grease from their service visit.
  •  Light lifting duties when needed.

Job Title: Service Detailer

Department: Service

– SUMMARY

  • Cleans and refurbishes NEW – USED and CUSTOMER automobiles. Adheres to dealership and manufacturer specifications and time allowances at all times.

– ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  • Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows, and wipes down doorjambs.
  •  Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surface.
  •  Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
  •  Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
  •  Applies revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
  •  Cleans engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents.
  •  Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer’s recommendations.
  •  Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation.
  •  Restores appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery, and painted surfaces. Uses touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate materials.
  •  Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
  •  Applies dressing on tires and tire wells.
  •  Ensures proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle’s window.
  •  Keeps work area neat and clean.
  •  Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
  •  Reports any safety issues immediately to management.

Job Title: Lot Technician

SUMMARY:

  •  Verifies receipt of and performs a damage inspection on new vehicles delivered to the dealership. Parks vehicles in the new-vehicle lot in an orderly manner.  Cleans cars for delivery after sale.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Compares serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice.
  • Inspects vehicles to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice.
  • Records the description of damages and lists missing items on the delivery receipt.
  • Parks new vehicles in assigned areas.
  • Maintain an orderly lot.
  • Catalogs and stores keys.
  • Moves sold vehicles to maximize use of space and keep the lot in order.
  • Delivers sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department.
  • Cleans/details sold units for delivery.
  • Collects invoices from office and prepare paperwork with necessary codes and information.
  • Prepares vehicle packets.
  • Writes internal service orders for PDI etc.
  • Organizes/preps showroom vehicles.
  • Prepares inventory reports weekly.

MARGINAL DUTIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  •  Dealer trades and deliveries as necessary.
  • Raise/Lower flag.
  • Shovel and de-ice lot.
